Grameen Bohumukhi Unnayan Sangstha (GBUS)
Bangladesh is welll known as developing country in the South Asia region. Morethan 145 million people are living in this country. Though the highest foreign earnings source is the 'Ready Made Garments' but still 80% of the population is dependent on agriculture. Morethan 43% people are living under poverty line, of which 32% esist in extreme layer of poverty who have no alternative option to take minimum food 1750 K.C./per day. The literacy reate is not satisfactory specillay women are fare behind in the said matter. Grameen Bohumukhi Unnayan Sangstha (GBUS) is a local NGO formed with active initiatives of some devoted individuals in the year 2000. It was registered under Voluntary Social Welfare-Chapainawabganj. Its registration no. Nawab-211/2001. Over the year it has been working in the areas like (a) Water & Sanitation, (b) Livestock (c) Fisheries (d) Staff Skill Developmet (e) Vocational Training (f) Disuster Management (g) Health & Family Planing (h) HIV/AIDS (i) Computer Training (j) Working for Protibondhi Unnayan Fundation (k) Micro Credit facility (l) Social awarness Program (m) Women rights (n) Litteracy Program (o) "Upo-Anustanik Shikha" with the support of BRAC (p) Tree Plantation etc.
